Get The Best Skin Of Your Life.. Without Using A SINGLE Beauty Product.

The beauty industry is literally making a fortune from people like me who are obsessed with making sure my skin looks in good shape but after doing a good amount of research (thanks Google!) I found that there are a few things you can do to get the best skin of your life without using a single beauty product.  My bank account is very happy (don't get too happy Mr Bank account, I have a pair of boots from Zara that I have my eye on!).

Drink Water

Don't roll your eyes at me! I know as soon as you read "Drink Water" you probably thought I was about to preach on about "eating right" and cutting out your two daily cups (*cough* four *cough*) of coffee but actually, I'm not. With that said, I will say that drinking as much water as you can take is good for you both inside and out.  Water gives your skin elasticity and prevents dark under eye circles because water flushes out any toxins in our bodies and acts as an internal moisturizer - so intead of applying a cream - drink a glass of water and it will moisturize from the inside out. Yes, really.

I remember once watching a TV show and someone saying "don't make me laugh, I'm getting laugh lines".  How freaking insane is that? I don't know about you, but I'd rather laugh and look horrible than be miserable and look great. Thankfully, you don't need to sacrifice one to have the other. Laughing uses muscles in your face which in turn firm your skin and laughing also activates hormones which boost collagen without using any expensive creams or treatments.

I go to my bed at 10:30pm on weeknights and am awake at 7:30am.  Rock On! I always try to make sure I get a good night's sleep by switching off social media, fluffing my pillows and creating a relaxing atmosphere for myself. If you're tired you will get dull skin and dark eye circles so get some shut eye girls - here's your excuse for a lie in tomorrow morning!

Wear Your Hair Up If It Feels Oily

Thsi might sound ridiculous, but it works for me. When you have oily hair and wear your hair down, you transfer some of that oil onto your skin which ends up causing spots and blemishes. By shoving your hair up in a top knot you're less likely to get break outs.  The same goes for backne (acne on your upper back).  When your hair starts to feel greasy, tie it up so that it doesn't transfer any oil to your upper back thus causing excess breakouts. Clever huh!

Food & Exercise

I won't give up my Saturday night crisps and a slice of pizza for anything - not even the greatest skin of my life - but thankfully I don't have to!  If you currently have fast food three times a week, perhaps cut it back to twice or make a homemade alternative.  There's no denying eating fatty food isn't great for your skin - but in moderation, doesn't do it a lot of harm either.  As for exercise - it activates all the good hormones that make you look younger.  It also makes you sweat, which actually is good for your skin. Even though no-one likes to sweat. Damn, I hate that word.

So there you have my tips on getting the best skin of your LIFE without using a SINGLE beauty product.  Now where are those Zara boots...

  1. Such a good tip with oily hair and skin x

  2. Great post, love it. It's always good to remember that beauty products are not the only way to fix beauty problems.
