Caudalie Mixology Box

Caudalie is a brand I once used for a year or so. In amongst the downpour of new skincare products landing on my desk for me to try, I somehow forgot all about the brand, until recently when I was very kindly sent a few of their products to try out from Love Me Beauty.

Caudalie Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil

Ahh!! the instant I see 'oil' I freak out. Virtually everytime I've used a cleansing oil, my skin has felt greasy and as though there is a build up on my skin. I was a little sceptical of this considering my previous experiences with cleansing oils but actually I was pleasantly surprised. I've been using this over the course of 2-3 weeks to really test it thoroughly and I can say my skin hasn't suffered any build up or breakouts as a result of using it. Warm 3 pumps of this into your palms and gently massage into your skin. I found this got rid of every scrap of makeup - including waterproof mascara - and that, for me, is worth it's weight in panda eyed gold!

Caudalie Instant Foaming Cleanser

A bit of a contrast to the last product is the foaming cleanser. Anything 'foaming' in skincare is drying so this is ideal for getting rid of oily build ups and is ideal for those of you who have oily/combination skin.

For me, this didn't do all that much. I used this in the evening before bed and if I'm honest, it left my skin feeling a tad dry and tight. Definitely not for dry skin but this dried out my oily t-zone within a couple of uses which again, really impressed me.

Caudalie Glycolic Peel

I was excited to try this out. Given that I was so impressed with the drops of youth from the Body Shop, this was quite similar and was happy to put it to the test. For me, peels are a bit 'hit and miss' because you can never fully be sure of how well they work. A lot of people say 'Look at the skin that rolled off!' but actually a lot of the time, this is actually the product itself that is rolling off.

I put this to the test by putting it onto a piece of paper, giving it a minute or two, then rubbing it the way I would if it was on my skin. The idea being that if this was really peeling the dead skin off, the paper would get thin or disintegrate upon rubbing the product. What happened instead was I was able to roll the product without causing any change to the paper.

Obviously paper and skin are different textures, which is why I used the thinnest paper I could find for the experiment.

Following that, I used this on my face twice per week for a month and can't say I noticed any drastic changes other than redness which was caused by rubbing my face to remove the product.

I can't say I'm impressed with this if I'm honest - Sorry!

Lastly...

Caudalie Overnight Detox Oil

Infused with anti-oxidant grape-seed, regenerating rose hip, purifying neroli, soothing lavender and detoxifying carrot oils, this 100% plant-based formula promotes cellular renewal & toxin elimination. Woaaahh that was a mouthful haha! I'm always hesitant to add oils to my skin because the 'feeling' of them sitting on my skin usually makes me want to scratch my face off.

This actually felt lightweight on my skin and I forgot I even had it on which is a first for me! I've been using this everyday for a month and can safely say I'm impressed. Despite using 8 drops every night (as directed!) for 30 days, it looks like I've hardly used any of the product. My skin feels supple and almost 'juicy' in the morning which I really like.

I'd thoroughly recommend this!

Have you tried any of Caudalie's products?
