Ishga Scottish Seaweed Skincare Review

Summertime is fast approaching and I am so ready so get my skin in shape for some sunny weather. I was recently contacted by Ishga, a Scottish Skincare brand that believes that Seaweed can really make a positive difference to the health and appearance of your skin. They asked if I would like to give my thoughts on some of their products and kindly sent across the Regenerating Face Serum and Hebridean Sea Salt & Oil Scrub to try out.

Ishga is the Scottish Gaelic word for "water" (Gaelic is pronounced like 'garlic' without the 'R' - many people pronounce it as 'gay-lic' which riles many a Scot! #JustSayin). The products are hand harvested  to create a 100% organic ingredient and it is believed that Ishga products contains higher seaweed content than other brands after scientists proved that the Hebridean contains natural anti-oxidants which are anti-ageing. All sounds good to me!

I was about to head for a shower when I received the package so I took the Sea Salt & Oil Scrub with me. I would say get a little cocktail stick or similar to stir the product together because the oil and the sea salt scrub do separate. Once stirred together, this smells incredible and is really grainy. My skin felt really soft and free of dry patches once I had used it. You only need a really small amount to go a long way but I would definitely keep this for your face to minimize how much product you use as the tub isn't all that big and costs £25.

Moving onto the Regenerating Skin Serum. This is £60 to buy so I'm hoping for something spectacular if I am to repurchase. This has an orange tint to it and has a gel consistency rather than a serum. I have used this 4/5 times now and I love the feeling I get from using it. My skin looks brighter and certainly feels much softer.  I apply roughly two pumps of this to the back of my hand before smoothing it into my face. Once I put it on my face it does feel sticky and tightening for a few minutes but yet to touch, evaporates almost instantly. It's obviously just the product working it's magic but it is completely 100% weightless on the skin after application.

£60 is a steep price to pay for a serum, but given that it only contains 5 ingredients and is Organic, I think it's a fair price to pay. I've spent more on a night out to be fair, and I reckon this will last ages making it a worthwhile purchase in my opinion.

Have you tried anything from Ishga? What are your thoughts on Seaweed as a skincare ingredient?
