Prolong Your Tan & Stay Safe With Elemis During The Heatwave!

So i know a lot of places in the UK were hit with rain and thunder and all whatnot last night but all across the world, we're experiencing really hot temperatures, so i thought i'd do a post on how to prolong your tan and stay safe with Elemis during the heatwave.

First off, if you're lucky enough to be going on holiday or have advance knowledge of when we're going to have some sunshine, you can prepare your skin NOW! before it's even sunny! 

the Elemis Tan Accelerator contains tyrosine which is an amino acid already present in our bodies, and encourages the skin cells to form melanin. Its natural and really helps to boost your tan when the sunshine makes an appearance.

If you apply this once per day for a few weeks prior to going on holiday or sun exposure, this will help to boost your tan. The tan accelerator has a slight pigment itself a very very light tan colour and it really helps to make you feel glowy.

The bottle of this says you can use this as low sun protection but i wouldn't recommend this. I am fair skinned and burn really easily, its so important to use proper sun protection which ive spoke about a lot over the last few weeks so i wont badger on, but i would recommend using a minimum of an SPF 30 - i use SPF 50!

For those of you who use SPF 30, the elemis liquid layer spf 30 will be ideal for you.  This water resistant SPF is lightweight and really just feels like a layer of skin! its really light and makes you feel non sticky which is so important for me because i hate feeling sticky.

Its important to remember, that even though this is water resistant, you should still apply this after being in the pool or any water to top up your sun protection. 

Its also really vital to remember to apply this even if it's not super sunny outside, the suns rays are strong and can still cause skin damage.

Before anyone asks, YES! you can apply this and still have a lovely glowing tan, you just miss out the burning stages :)

Trust me, sunburn aint fun! use SPF!!
