Monshea Hair Products

I was recently contacted by Monshea to ask if I fancied testing out some of their products. Monshea is a natural beauty brand with incredible ingredients.

Monshea® African shea butter oil, is a natural plant oil containing multi-vitamins, vitamins A, E & F. It is fractionated from premium grade unrefined Shea butter and is a rich, but light oil that immediately softens your skin on application. It also hydrates and evens out your skin tone whilst also combatting signs of ageing.

I was most interested in trying out their scalp oil. The Monshea® Scalp Oil can be used directly on scalp as desired. The refreshing peppermint and rosemary essential oils infused into the rich shea oil, contribute to relieving and invigorating dry itchy scalps.

Obvs, I've mentioned this 1000000 times, but I have psoriasis on my scalp so I have to be careful which products I use on my scalp and I do get a bit scared when I'm asked to try out a new hair product. Being that this one is natural, I felt in safe hands.

The tub recommends using this 2-3 times a week, so I did just that for 2 weeks and the results were pretty impressive.

First off, just a wee word of warning, this tends to leak a bit so be sure to store it in an upright position and keep it away from heat to avoid the oils overly melting.

After the first use, I expected my hair to be a bit greasy but actually, it wasn't heavy on my hair at all. I also expected a wee bit of irritation but actually, it was cooling and didn't sting at all (not even on the sore areas of my scalp!).

As time went on, my scalp was still feeling a bit itchy and irritated. I was almost giving up hope, until using it for the second week which is where I noticed the real difference. My scalp became less and less irritated and some of the dry patches were starting to go away. I noticed less flaking too which is amazing after 2 weeks.

Monshea do other products, including the Monshea® Hair Oil which is blended with a generous quantity of Argan oil & essential oils such as Ylang- Ylang and Rosewood, creates the perfect product to control frizz and hydrate colour treated hair, giving a glossy shine without the heaviness & greasiness other styling products.

I did love this for the ends of my hair in particular but did find using this all over my hair made it somewhat greasy - probably as a result of using both the hair and scalp oils together.

Have you tried Monshea? you can view their range here.
